While the launch of 2017 Hyundai verna is awaited by many in India, the Korean carmaker has officially let out a teaser of the same to amuse these enthusiasts. From this, few details have been revealed though not all of them. The facelifted mid-size sedan was launched in China last year. But the Indian spec model will resemble Hyundai Solaris that was unveiled in Russia earlier this year and not the China one. Hyundai verna 2017 will be manufactured at the company facility in Chennai from where it will also be exported to other global markets. The launch is expected to be in the month of August this year.
Much similar to the Elantra, Hyundai verna too has been developed on the company’s latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 Design Philosophy. The exteriors get cascade grille in chrome, projector headlamps with LED DLRs, circular fog lamps, protruding bonnet with character lines and a revised bumper in the front while rear has split LED tail lights, boot mounted spoiler and a new design to boast of when compared to its siblings. Presence of new 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels gives the new sedan the look of a coupe.
Dimensions have been changed compared to its predecessor; thereby making this new sedan longer by 15mm and wider by 29mm. The wheelbase has also been increased by 10mm altogether providing more room inside the cabin. However, these revisions have increased overall weight of the sedan only by 10kg which is astounding. Thanks to the usage of high tensile steel that keeps the sedan lighter yet brawny in nature. An updated chassis contributes to lesser noise as well thereby promising improved dynamics.
Interiors are expected to get dual tone cabin that features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Mirror link, heated front seats, navigation system, start stop function and many more to challenge its rivals like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City 2017 and Skoda Rapid in the market. Safety features like ABS with EBD, dual airbags, emergency braking system, rear view camera are also heard to be available in the Indian spec Verna 2017.
The new subcompact sedan is believed to come in both powertrains of 1.4L and 1.6L motors as similar to the outgoing model. Price is expected to range between Rs.9 lakh and Rs.14 lakh, while we will have to wait to know what is in store, until Hyundai officially lets out more details.

The most anticipated SUV of the year, Jeep Compass was officially launched in India on July 31st 2017. Being a locally assembled SUV from Jeep was one of the reasons that paved way for excitement towards this launch. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles had launched two vehicles from the same brand last year, but with a heavy price owing to the fact that they reached India through the CBU route. As a result, these vehicles did not fare well in the Indian market. This was when the company announced its decision to locally manufacture an SUV for retailing not just in India, but also exporting to all right hand drive markets. Now, the wait has come to an end and Jeep Compass rolls out with an affordable price tag with all components of a premium SUV.
