• M&M launches a new feature loaded variant- W9 of XUV500
• W9 priced at Rs.15.45 lakh
• This could be M&M’s answer to Jeep Compass
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. launched a new variant W9 on the XUV500 lineup that is fully loaded with innovative features. It is priced at Rs.15.45 lakh and comes as an answer to the challenge from Jeep Compass. XUV500 was launched in 2011 for the first time in India. Since then, it has managed to win the hearts of SUV lovers with attractive features that were only available in top end vehicles until then.
W9 does not receive any changes on its exterior and carries the same design as the facelift version launched in 2015. Posited itself between the W8 and W10, it gets new and top end features, a few of them borrowed from its elder sibling. They include panoramic electric sunroof, intelligent light sensing Projector headlamps, 7-inch colour touch screen infotainment display with GPS, USB, Bluetooth and Ipod connectivity, Android Auto compatibility, Mahindra Blue Sense App, ABS with EBD and many more innumerable features.
However, this feature loaded compact SUV continues to be powered by the same 2.2L four cylinder mHawk Diesel engine that makes 140bhp at 3750rpm and 330Nm of peak torque at 1600 to 2800rpm. The motor is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while an automatic one is also available in this variant.
XUV500 W9 will compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta and upcoming Renault Captur along with Jeep Compass. M&M plans to win back the hearts of their customers who might have been lured by the overflow of new vehicles into this particular segment.
