In 1987 George M Hendy has started a Bicycle manufacturing company in America, named Hendy Manufacturing Company. The company introduced bicycles under the names, silver kenley, American India(which is converted as the brand name Indian).
From 1901, joined hands with Oscar Heads Trom , has started producing motorcycles with gasoline engine.And in the same year the Indian Motor Cycle came to reality and it got sold in the very next year.In years Indian Motor Cycle has become a brand, with the un comparable performance of its motorcycles.The company faced a shut down issue in 2003 due to financial issues. In 2008 a London company Stellikyen and in 2011 Polaris Industries has taken over the company. Last year, Indian bikes hited the Indian roads.

Even the Scout has got a good history. The first set of Indian Scout has hilted the roads in 1920-1949 period. The vehicles released in 1928-1931 period are still gets used in the wall of death activities, because of its better handling efficiency. The Indian Motorcycles company has reintroduced Scout in recent times, which was not in the market for some period. It is going to compete with the vehicles such as Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 with the legacy of many successful models.
Its almost similar in shape with Harley Davidson 48. The wheel base is 1562.We could call its shape “Retro”. Classic and modern factors are visible in the design. It is not easy to describe and include the features about the performance of Scout in this small article. That much wow factors are there with Indian scout.
