Trending car news Mercedes Benz will be making a global debut of its entry-level electric vehicle, concept named EQA in 2020. The fully electric crossover EQA was teased for the first time during the premiere of the second-generation GLA.

At the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the company first unveiled the EQA concept in the form of a three-door car. Apparently, the model was a hatchback based on the A-Class. The latest revelation says it will be a five-door crossover based on the new generation GLA. The EQA concept is based on the Modular Electric Architecture (MEA) platform, developed exclusively for the company's upcoming EV range. It measures 4284mm in length, 1811mm in width and 1427mm in height along with a wheelbase of 2728mm.

Not much details of EQA has been disclosed yet by the company. The concept prototype was powered by two electric motors that churn out a combined power output of 268 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque. It is equipped with a 60kw flat battery pack that guarantees a range of up to 400 km in a single charge. Mercedes has developed wireless inductive charging feature on this battery. Two driving modes named Sport and Sport+ are offered on the EQA.

Mercedes EQA concept is expected to launch its production model after the plugin hybrid version of GLA as well as A-Class. Mercedes will most likely showcase the EQA at the upcoming 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi next month.

Trending car news The 2020 Jaguar XE facelift will be available in two variants - S and SE. These trims are available in both diesel and petrol option. It continues the same engines as its predecessor along with BS6 compliment. 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which produces 250hp and 365Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine which produces 180hp and 430Nm of peak torque. All the motor are paired with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.

The XE facelift gets a few cosmetic changes. It is now lower and wider than its predecessor, which makes it a sporty look and also makes to its on road appearance. The revised styling on the XE has been inspired from the F-Type sportscar and the all-electric I-Pace SUV. It gets a larger and revised mesh grille,12 mm slimmer headlamps and get the new J-blade LED daytime running lights which is now standard on all Jaguar models. The sharper LED tail lights and reworked alloy wheels are giving more handsome look than the existing version.

The Updated XE gets more technical features than before, such as fully digital instrument cluster in the top spec SE, larger touchscreen, touchscreen unit for the climate control and seat functions. The overall quality of the cabin has been seen improved.
