The compact SUV has undergone a decent makeover starting from the design to its engine. The exterior design is tweaked with a newly designed grille with new chrome inserts, revamped bumpers, circular fog lamps and optional LED lamps replacing the existing bi-xenon headlamps. New alloy wheels have been provided while the GLA facelift has also grown taller by 30mm accentuating the SUV stance. Rear tail lights also appear new with tinted borders.

Interiors are provided with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with new needles and dials on its instrument cluster. New upholstery and chrome finish on the electric seat controls and the centre console are other visible features on the Facelift GLA.

Under the hood, this new compact SUV gets the same engine for both petrol and diesel while the AMG variant GLA 45 gets a 2L supercharged petrol engine that churns 371bhp and 474.5Nm of torque. The latter sprints from 0-100kmph in 4.4 seconds and its top speed is 250kmph.

As part of the safety features, the GLA 2017 facelift gets a new Active Brake Assist along with the Attention Assist system.

A new top end variant named Yellow Night Edition will be available in a black and yellow dual tone colour scheme with yellow interior highlights as well.
