The ever successful Mercedes Benz E- class sedan in its fifth generation model will roll on Indian roads in February 2017. It had gone on global sale last year and now it is time for us to welcome this new styled best seller here in the country. The fourth generation E-class which was launched in 2013 claimed over 2000 updates at that time thereby setting high expectations for all the upcoming vehicles from Mercedes.
The most important update on this new E-class is the contemporary design language it follows through the popular front end seen on the C Class and the S Class, as a result keeping it comfortably placed between these two sedans. This next generation model will be longer than the existing one owing to the dimensional changes given to it; hence the name earned E-class L. The length has been extended by 43mm and wheelbase by 65mm, while the width has been decreased by 2mm and height by 6mm. In terms of weight, the vehicle has been toned down by 70 kgs.
The Interiors display magnificence with a wide high resolution 12.3 inches twin display, one for the infotainment system and other for the instrument cluster. There is also a dial knob gear selector in this new sedan. For the first time, the steering wheel comprises of touch buttons for control. The cabin is extra spacious now with the longer wheelbase and rear seats are also provided with an optional tablet controller to control the infotainment system, interior lights and climate control functions there by stating luxuriousness at every nook on the interiors.
The self-driving packages available on the international E-class models will not be available on the Indian spec one considering the pricing factor here in the country. However, the fifth generation E-class will possess all other updates on its petrol and diesel variants. The Petrol trim is equipped with a 2L turbocharged engine, seen on the GLC and C Class Cabriolet that churns out 241.6bhp. The Diesel trim is equipped with a 3.5L V-6 engine, seen on the Mercedes 350dthat produces 254bhp, replacing the existing 2L diesel engine.
The new E-class is being assembled at the Pune facility and will be on sale by February end or March first week. Prices are expected to be around Rs.55 lakh onwards.

Honda WR-V (Winsome Runabout Vehicle), the sub compact crossover was unveiled at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil. Now, Honda is about to launch the same here in the country on March 16th, 2017. As WR-V rolls here, India will earn the name for being the first country to produce and launch it in the world. Previously named as the Jazz Twist, this crossover is based on the company’s best seller Honda Jazz but is slightly longer and taller than the latter.
