Maruti Suzuki launched an Utsav edition for Alto 800, their popular tiny hatchback on account of the festive season. Not all variants, but the VXi(O) trim that gets this special edition priced at Rs.3.94 lakh. This price is around Rs.20000 (for the accessory kit) more than the outgoing VXi(O) variant. Alto 800 is a vehicle that hasn’t seen much of an upgrade in the recent past, yet managed to remain as one of the best sellers from the company.
Similar to the special editions that make its entry into the market, this edition too does not receive any mechanical changes. However, Utsav edition Alto 800 receives plenty of cosmetic upgrades that make it look distinct from the rest of the crowd.
Exterior revisions include chrome enhancements on the bumper and tail lamp, festive themed decals on sides, door seal guard, ORVM indicators and reverse parking sensors for extra safety and so on. Inside the cabin, an all-new black with red upholstery grabs attention. The 800cc petrol engine on the Alto VXi(O)continues to make 48bhp of power and 69Nm of torque while being coupled to a 5-speed transmission.
