The Japanese Automaker Honda has a name for itself in the Indian market. Honda City has been retailing in India for over 20 years in good numbers. In spite of having more rivals in its segment than any other segment has, the company has now recorded 300% more sales for its new Amaze. It has to be noted that the first iteration of Amaze was a flop in India.
The new and updated Honda Amaze in its second generation came with a lot of changes both on its exterior and interior. With its bold chrome slated Honda’s signature smiling grille and a refreshing new interior, and the most refined and smoothest petrol engine that Honda models are quite popular for, this is a brand that has caught attention of all car lovers in India.
The old model recorded a sale of 1,415 units during the December month of 2017. The sales figures of updated model has shot up more than 300% units during the December of 2018 at 5,565 units. Though this number is less than its direct rival the Maruti Suzuki DZire, this is indeed a success story for Honda Amaze. Dzire on the other end, has throned itself as number one selling car in India pushing its sibling Alto 800 behind.
Honda Amaze is available in two engine options and two gearing options. Prices start from Rs.5.8 lakh and goes upto Rs.9.10 lakh for the top end diesel. Amaze now gets all the bells and whistles to meet modern day requirements like push button start, touch screen with apple car play and even paddle shifters for the automatic variant. Though Honda positions itself premium to the Maruti Suzuki, it has been priced more competitively and both sit neck to neck in the market.
