The star brand has the highest selling vehicles in this list. The last years sales are reported at 15,538 units. The growth is marginal as last year too they had good sales history by selling 15,330 units.
The newly launched Long wheelbase E–Class has been the brands best seller for last year and this helped in achieving the brand to sell more than 15,000 units for the second consecutive year.
BMW post a sales growth of 13% along with their MINI range of cars.
The car maker totally sold 11105 units combined where BMW alone sold 10405 cars and the MINI stands at 700 units which is 66% more than the last years sales.
This year BMW achieved it with the release of its 6 series GT and the 5 series sedan. More than 50% of its sales is contributed by its SUV segment, the X1, X3, X5.
This year it has the new 3 series and the X7 lined up to launch.
BMW motorcycles sales have been increased too with the launch of 2 entry level bikes G310R and 310GS. The sales stood at 2,187 motorcycles.
The German car Maker AUDI has seen rough time in India with with sales declining to 18%.
The number of units sold stand at 6463 units which was 7486 units in the year 2017. Audi shut down its retail dealerships in Central Delhi and Gurgaon, which affected the sales. Though it was able to earn profits for their other dealers.
Audi has introduced 10 new models last year, including the A3 sedan, A3 Cabriolet, A5, Q3, and the SS and the Q5 received a new update. In the year 2019 Audi is planning to launch the Audi A8, The new R8 and the E- Tron.
Volvo witnessed quite a good year in 2018 with a sales jump of 30%. This premium brand had a couple of new launches last year. The updated premium sub-compact SUV, Volvo XC40 was their best selling car. This was followed by its big brother XC90 and XC 60. These models along with S90 received a new design with the signature Thor’s Hammer headlight making the design more appealing and attractive.
The sales of Volvo was recorded with 2638 units in India, which was 30% more than the sales Volvo has seen in the year 2017.
Volvos are known for their safety and now they are arriving in style too. This Swedish car brand has plans to introduce more electric vehicles in their list with their already available XC90 T9 model.

Jaguar, Land Rover, Range Rover has seen a great year in terms of sales. The sales have seen rising with an increase of 16.23%.
Last year JLR sold 4596 cars in India, which has been the highest calendar year for JLR in terms of sales in India. They were busy last year with many new launches. The company introduced its Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport, The Velar, F-Pace with a new 2.0L engine and the 50th anniversary XJ50
All the Luxury car brands have seen a decent sales number the last year, while Mercedes Benz sales spoke for them, Audi is experiencing some rougher tides, although, they were the first brand in India to cross the first 10K mark in luxury car sales.
