has finally unveiled their upcoming premium hatchback Altroz at the International Geneva Auto Show this year and we must say it looks stunning.
Introduced once as 45X
concept car in the same auto show in the year 2018, Altroz now stood there as the show stopper. As seen before in the leaked images, spy shots and as imagined in renders, the car looks quite similar to what was in all of our minds. Altroz follows the Impact 2.0 design philosophy followed by the Harrier
as we all know. It borrows many design inspirations from the popular model Harrier
and will be the first car to be based on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform.
The car has the same front fascia as that of the Harrier
with a slim front grille and fog lamps positioned high near the headlamps. The car was shown in a dual tone paint job which was flowing all the way to the rear. Turn indicators have been mounted on the side fenders near the doors.
The design looked like the hatchback version of Harrier
both on the exterior and the interior. The interior has all features that the modern day generation would demand for. The feature list includes keyless entry with push button start, infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster with MID display and many more.
With uncompromised safety, the features under this list will be class best. Needless to say, Tata
is more concerned about safety that is evident in all of its previous launches. The engine options would be from Tata Nexon with a 1.2L turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that offers 110 PS power and 170 Nm torque. The 1.5L turbocharged Revotorq diesel engine will be capable of making 110 PS power and 260 Nm torque. Both engines will be mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox and also receive a 6 speed automatic transmission as an option.
Altroz is slated for launch in the second half of 2019 in India and it is expected to compete against Maruti Suzuki Baleno
and Hyundai i20
, at a relatively cheaper price tag.
