Land Rover launched their entry level Discovery model in India

 Land Rover Discovery News, Price In India, Launch Update Land Rover has added an entry level model to the Discovery line-up at a starting price of Rs.75.18 Lakh (Ex showroom) in India. The new affordable model is powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder, ingenium diesel engine which makes 240hp and 500Nm of torque.

The new 2.0 litre engine is available in four variants such as S, LSE, HSE and Luxury. The S variant in this new version is about Rs.13 lakh cheaper than the ongoing 3.0 litre S variant.Likewise, other variants are even cheaper with Rs.20 lakh drop while comparing with the existing variants.

Other than the engine and price change, all other features on this base model remain the same as of the existing model. The features list include four-zone climate control, powered third row seats, 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, protect and remote, intelligent seat fold, electrically reclining seats etc.

Like all other Land Rover cars, this model also comes with off road capabilities. The Land Rover Discovery competed with the Mercedes GLE , Audi Q7 and BMW X5 in the Indian market.

HSE Rs.82.97 lakh

Honda City gets new safety features with no change in price

Honda City 2019 gets additional safety features, Car News in India Honda India has added more safety features to its best-selling sedan City, keeping its price unchanged. Honda city now comes with a front passenger seatbelt reminder and a speed alarm.

Apparently, the Honda City cars manufactured after 29th May 2019 are equipped with this new set of features. The new speed alarm that has been fitted on these units are equipped to alert drivers with a beep tone when the car reaches a speed of 80kmph on the gauge. The meter also beeps continuously when the car touches 120kmph. This is a very important feature since the Indian roads or the traffic here; do not complement high speed driving.

The safety additions have been provided by Honda on this model as per the mandate norms issued by the Govt. The norms require all vehicles manufactured after 1st July 2019 to be equipped with these safety features, along with a standard driver airbag and ABS. All variants of the Honda City sedan come with standard dual airbags and ABS already.

Since the year 1998 when the car was launched in India for the first time, Honda City has managed to remain the most successful car from the brand. This model is powered by a 119hp 1.5-litre petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission unit. The fuel efficiency figures of Honda City is claimed to be 17.8kmpl.

The mainstream competitors of the City sedan are Maruti Suzuki Ciaz , Toyota Yaris , Hyundai Verna , Volkswagen Vento , and Skoda Rapid .

Jeep Compass Trailhawk prelaunch booking started

Upcoming SUV Jeep Compass Trailhawk in India, Prebooking, Price and Features Jeep India has begun the prelaunch booking for upcoming Compass variant, Trailhawk. Interested buyers can now pre-book Trailhawk from any of the Jeep dealerships in the country at a refundable booking amount of Rs.50,000.

With revised front and rear bumpers, Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be the most capable off roader variant of Jeep upon launch. This variant is expected to be powered by a BS-VI, 2.0-litre diesel engine which generates 173PS of power and 350Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The Trailhawk variant will be the first BS-VI compliant offering in its segment. It will also be the the first Made-in-India Jeep to hold the prestigious Trail Rated badge, a global benchmark given to Jeep 4x4 SUVs which are developed with better off-road capabilities compared to regular 4x4 Jeep models.

The new Trailhawk sports a dual tone bonnet with a non-reflective anti-glare black patch on the hood. The new dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels will catch the attention of onlookers from the sides. All other Jeep Compass variants come with road-biased Firestone tyres, whereas Trailhawk comes with Falken All-terrain rubber.

This model gets an all-black interior with red accents. Red double stitching on seats, red colored enhancements surrounding the gear liver, instrument cluster and speakers are other notable features.

Trailhawk will be the most expensive variant from Jeep Compass upon launch and this new variant is expected to reach India by July 2019.

A quick look at globally unveiled Suzuki Swift Sport Katana edition

Suzuki Swift Sport Katana Hatchback, Katana Bike, Auto news, Features Last month, Suzuki unveiled Swift Sport Katana edition in the Netherlands. This special edition is considered as a tribute to the yester year Suzuki Katana motorcycle that was once a star in the international market during the 1980s.

It is quite sure that India won’t get this model. Apparently, Suzuki will make only 30 units of this special edition out of which half will be in Super Black Pearl shade and remaining half in Premium Super Metallic. The presence of this special edition variant is restricted to the Dutch market at 28,999 euros, which is nearly Rs.22.67 lakh.

The Suzuki Swift Sport Katana edition gets exclusive interiors and exteriors and will be the most expensive and exclusive variant of the Swift hatchback.

The Suzuki Katana motorcycle was a very famous model in the international market. This model made its debut in 1981and stopped production in 2006. However, it is now back in the 2019 avatar with a 999cc engine. The new Swift Sport Katana edition will promote both the car and the motorcycle together.

The car features the same metallic paint scheme as of the motorcycle Katana and also gets red accents on the grille surrounds with black racing stripes on the bonnet. The graphics and blacked out alloy wheels enhance the style of its side profile. It also exhibits the “Katana” label on the front doors of the hatchback.

Inside the cabin, the steering wheel and seats carry Katana badges while the seat covers also exhibit the serial number between 1 to 30 giving it a unique limited edition feel. Katana also features touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and reverse parking camera.

In terms of safety , this new model gets features such as brake assist, ABS with EBD, front and side airbags, and tyre pressure monitoring system.

As mentioned earlier, Suzuki does not have any plans to bring Katana to Indian market at this point. Yet like all times, we hope maybe this stylish hatchback will make its debut in India in the coming future, taking into account the fact that this country is a an ever growing and promising market for all car makers.

KTM Duke790 Indian launch postponed again

KTM Duke 790 launch delay in India, Motorcycle Features KTM Duke 790 is one of the most anticipated models in the country. Apparently it turns out that the wait is extended since the brand will not launch the model this year. Due to problems with the homologation process, KTM has postponed the vehicle launch to 2020. The motorcycle is required to be homologated by the vehicle authorities of India to go on sale here.

KTM dealers in the country have already started accepting booking for this vehicle at a booking amount of Rs.30,000. The expected price for this vehicle is between Rs.7.5 lakh to Rs.8 lakh. The production spec KTM Duke 790 was first introduced to the world at the 2018 EICMA in Milan. In February this year, news of this motorcycle spotted testing at Bajaj facility went viral and since then all bike lovers have been waiting anxiously for its launch in the country.

This model is already on sale in the International market. Duke 790 is powered by a 799cc parallel twin engine that churns out 105hp and 86Nm of peak torque. Its weight is just 174kg, which makes this motorcycle one of the lightest in its segment. 43mm, non-adjustable USD fork at the front and a pre-load monoshock at the rear handles suspension jobs while a J.Juan 300mm twin-disc brake with four-pot, radial-mounted calipers at the front and a two-piston caliper on a 240mm disc brake at the rear manage braking jobs.

After launch KTM Duke 790 will compete with Suzuki GSX-S750, Kawasaki Z900, Triple S and the Ducati Monster 821.
