Skoda Rapid re-launched the Monte Carlo edition and is offered in an exclusive flash red color scheme. The Monte Carlo range pays homage to Skoda’s motorsport Heritage and rally Monte Carlo.
The older version of Rapid’s Monte Carlo edition was discontinued by the company in less than 2 months after its release in August 2017 as Monte Carlo apparels filed a trademark infringement case against the automaker, but that case has been settled now.
The Monte Carlo edition is the sportier version of the standard model Rapid. Its sporty features include gloss black B pillars and Monte Carlo badging, black roof rail, black tail gate spoiler, black diffuser and blackened ORVMs. Other exterior features include 16 inch alloys and projector headlamps with LED DRLs.
Interiors also appear sporty with single tone black treatment in the cabin with all the amenities like touchscreen which doubles as a rear parking camera, a sporty flat bottom steering wheel, front and rear arm rest, tinted window glass, rain sensing wipers, cruise control and so on. In terms of safety, this new edition comes with all necessary safety equipments like dual-airbags, ABS, EBD, three point seat belts, ESC and hill hold assist.
The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition is powered by 1.5L TDI diesel unit offering 110bhp worth power and 250Nm torque and the petrol variant is powered by a 1.6L engine producing 105bhp and 153Nm of torque. Both the engines are available in either manual or automatic options.
The prices for the petrol and diesel MT are Rs.11.26 lakh and Rs.13 lakh respectively and for their AT versions are Rs.12.36 lakh and Rs.14.26 lakh (Ex-showroom).
