Triumph India recently launched three new variants of the 2018 Triumph Tiger 800. The variants are priced starting from Rs.11.76 lakh for the Tiger 800 XR, Rs.13.13 lakh for the Tiger 800 XRx and Rs.13.76 for the Tiger 800 XCx.
There has been a significant change in both pricing and appearance in the new Triumph Tiger 800. It is to be noted that the new bike has a total of 200 changes compared to the previous model. All the changes brought in lead to a much more refined engine that makes 95PS of power at 9500rpm and a torque of 79Nm at 8050rpm. The introduction of a smaller and light weighted exhaust system does not compromise with loud exhaust notes as well.
It seems like the company has put more focus into comfort in riding with the new Triumph Tiger 800. The position of the handlebar is now closer to the rider to give a comfortable position in riding. A revised cushioning adds more joy to the ride.
The new features include aero deflector enabled adjustable windscreen for better aerodynamics and full LED headlamps primarily available only on the XRx and XCx. The new backlit switchgear with a five way joystick to toggle the windscreen and a colour TFT instrument console are also the highlights of the new features. The XRx an XCx come with brembo brakes as standard.
The Tiger XR 800 gets 43mm Showa upside down front fork and Showa rear monoshock while the other two variants are equipped with 43mm WP upside down forks and WP monoshocks.
The Triumph Tiger competes with a number of bikes in the segment including the HONDA Africa Twin, Ducati Multistrada 950 and the BMW F850 GS launched earlier at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018.
Triumph India has a series of bikes to be launched internationally this year including the much awaited upgrade to the Triumph Tiger 1200. Seems like the company is on a roll making its presence strong in the market with all these exhilarating models coming up.
