Kawasaki India launched the BS6 compliant version of its popular naked streetfighter Z900 at prices ranging between Rs.8.50 lakh and Rs.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The BS4 version of the same motorcycle is currently being retailed at ?7.69 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
2020 Kawasaki Z900 is the first BS6 compliant model from the company's lineup in the country. The new BS6 model is available in two colour options of Metallic Graphite Gray/Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Spark Black/Metallic Flat Spark Black.
The Z900 BS6 gets four riding modes - Road, Sport and Manual. Furthermore the bike also gets two power modes and three levels of traction control. The new streetfighter is also supported by dual-channel ABS as standard.
The new model comes equipped with an all-LED headlamp, 10.9-inch coloured TFT instrument cluster and smartphone connectivity through the Kawasaki Rideology App. It also gets a stronger frame now, and a new pair of Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres for smoother rides.
Apart from all this, Z900 BS6 still continues to feature the same 41mm USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. For braking, dual 300mm petal discs at the front and a single 250mm petal disc at the rear have been provided.
In terms of engine, the new Z900 will feature the same 948cc, inline-four cylinder engine which is similar to its previous BS4 model. The engine makes 123bhp at 9500 rpm and 98.6Nm of peak torque at 7700rpm while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.
The new 2020 Kawasaki Z900 will compete with other premium naked streetfighters in the market like Suzuki GSX-S750, KTM 790 Duke and the Triumph Street Triple S.
