All new Hero Glamour was launched in the country recently with latest style and technology in addition to the upgraded BS-IV engine. It appears in two variants- a drum brake and a disc brake variant at Rs.57,775 and Rs.59,755 (Both ex-showroom prices, Delhi) respectively. Another fuel injected version, Glamour FI has also been launched with only a disc brake variant priced at Rs.66,580 (ex-showroom price, Delhi). Hero has started selling the 2017 model bike through all its dealerships across the country through prebooking options. The older version still continues to be on sale until stocks last at its price, which is around Rs.10000 lesser than the new one.
Hero Glamour 2017 gets new looks and a more tough exterior with its angular design. The instrument cluster comes in analog-digital display with i3S indicator, trip meter, odometer and a digital fuel gauge. The headlamps come with AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) feature that has become mandatory on all vehicles now. The rear gets LED tail lights and profile looks much sleeker compared to the outgoing model. The fuel tank capacity is 13.6 litres.
This new commuter is powered by a 124.7cc air cooled, single cylinder four stroke engine that produces more power than the existing model at 11.3bhp and 11Nm of torque. The BS-IV engine is mated to a four speed gearbox and is developed using Hero’s i3S (Idle Stop Start System) technology. This technology was developed to increase the fuel efficiency that helps turn off the ignition when the engine is idle and can be restarted using the clutch and therefore claims to return a mileage of 60kmpl.
The FI variant on the other hand, is charged by a 124.7cc air cooled, single cylinder engine that produces 8.97bhp and 10.35Nm of torque. The fuel tank capacity of this bike is 12 litres while the bike claims a mileage of 62kmpl.
The three variants of Glamour 2017 weigh between 125kg to 127kg. Braking duties are handled by 240mm disc brake at the front for disc brake variants and 130mm drum brake at its rear. The carbureted engine model is available in five colours which includes a new Digital Silver while the FI engine model is available in three colours.

Royal Enfield motorcycles powered by BS-IV engines are now available in India. The entire lineup is said to have received the engine upgrades with AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) feature (both being stringent norms), even though no official statement has been released by the company yet. According to reports from financial express, Electra 350 was spotted already on sale at one of the company dealerships with updated features as the BS-IV engine and AHO. Other models too are believed to go on sale with the same upgrades in another week, as April 1st, 2017 is the deadline for these norms to be implemented on all motor vehicles in India. The prices have been hiked for the new range of BS-IV motorcycles from Royal Enfield.
Honda launched the first scooter in India, Activa 125cc with an engine that complies with BS-IV norms. The New Activa also becomes the first scooter to get an AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) feature, which is about to be mandatory on all vehicles in India from April 1st, 2017 as part of safety regulations. Not many cosmetic updates have been provided on this best seller. However, few prominent tweaks are seen like the new pair of LED positioning lamps that fit perfectly into the chrome apron on the front, a protuberant Honda badge and also a mobile charging socket.
Yamaha launched its latest offering in the FZ series named FZ 25 as a gentle step towards the booming 250cc bike segment. Comfortably placed between the YZF R15 version 2.0 and YZF R3, this motorcycle marks Yamaha’s entry into the performance bike segment which is being dominated by giants like Royal Enfield, KTM and Bajaj Auto. The bike was initially named as FZ 250, but later the company decided to dump the 0 and name it FZ 25.
