News - Royal Enfield BS-IV range of vehicles launched in India

Royal Enfield motorcycles powered by BS-IV engines are now available in India. The entire lineup is said to have received the engine upgrades with AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) feature (both being stringent norms), even though no official statement has been released by the company yet. According to reports from financial express, Electra 350 was spotted already on sale at one of the company dealerships with updated features as the BS-IV engine and AHO. Other models too are believed to go on sale with the same upgrades in another week, as April 1st, 2017 is the deadline for these norms to be implemented on all motor vehicles in India. The prices have been hiked for the new range of BS-IV motorcycles from Royal Enfield.

The Royal Enfield Electra 350 is now powered by a BS-IV compliant 346cc twin spark single cylinder engine that produces 19.8bhp of power and 28Nm of torque while being bonded to five-speed manual transmission. Braking is done with the help of a 280mm disc brake with dual-piston caliper at the front and 153mm drum at its rear. The motorcycle also gets telescopic front forks and twin gas charged rear shock absorbers for suspension.

The weight of Electra 350 is 187kgs and the fuel tank capacity remains at 13 litres. The dimensions of the vehicle hasn’t changed with length at 2140mm, width at 810mm and height at 1120mm. The ground clearance for Electra 350 is 135mm with a wheelbase of 1370mm. The revised price for the entire lineup of Royal Enfield is as follows (Courtesy: Financial Express):
