Bajaj Avenger Street 160 was launched in India at Rs 82,253 (Ex Showroom Delhi) last week. With this price tag, the new comer from Bajaj has become the most affordable cruiser bike in India. Initially this title was bagged by the Avenger Street 180 but now, Avenger Street 160 undercuts the former by around Rs.6000 and has went on to become the pocket friendly choice for cruiser lovers.
Avenger Street 160 has also replaced Street 180, that has no ABS included in its feature list, and does not comply with the mandatory safety regulations in India.
Looking at the design, with its blacked-out components, oblong headlamp with LED DRL, straight handlebar, single-piece seat, fork gaitors and alloy wheels, this new model however appears almost identical to Street 180. It also gets an analogue instrument cluster which was present in the elder brother.
Bajaj Avenger Street 160 is powered by a 160cc, single cylinder engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. The engine is good for generating a maximum power output of 15bhp and torque output of 14.6Nm. The suspension system on 2019 Bajaj Avenger 160 Street includes conventional telescopic forks upfront and twin spring shock absorbers at the rear. Braking power comes from disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear. A single-channel ABS is on offer as standard.
Booking for 2019 Avenger Street 160 are already open and some dealers have started handing over deliveries as well. The new cruiser bike is being offered in black and red color options. Suzuki Intruder is ready, waiting to compete with this new cruiser from Bajaj.
