Indian automobile market seems to add excitement to the end of festivity as well withmore motorcycles geared up for launch. Few of them already in the market, many more are expected to arrive in the coming few months. While the first half of 2017 witnessed newcomers from the performance segment, the second half seems to be having a mixed bag of commuters, naked and full faired sport bikes, both new and revised models. With more and more brands marking its presence in India, this market has been growing rapidly contributing towards the growth of the Indian economy.
Here are a few motorcycles expected to be launched in the coming months:
1.Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0: Known as the baby R6 on the global platform, this new version of the R15 is slated for launch pretty soon. This new machine will be powered by the same engine on the existing model, but fine-tuned to deliver more power while being coupled to a six-speed transmission. It also gets few cosmetic updates on the profile and will be priced around Rs.1.30 lakh.
2.TVS Apache RR 310S/Akula: The combined effort of TVS and BMW Motorrad has given birth to this fully faired motorcycle which carries the same engine as on the BMW G310R. The 313cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine on the Akula makes 32bho worth power and 28Nm of peak torque on a six-speed gearbox. The Apache RR 310S will be out in the retail market in a couple of days and is expected to carry a price tag of Rs.2.5 lakh.
3. Suzuki GSX250R: While speculations still exist on the arrival of this model in India, bike enthusiasts seem to be high on hopes for the launch. Reason being simple that it is time India receives a 250cc machine from Suzuki. While there has been no official confirmation on this news yet, the GSX 250R with a 248cc parallel twin engine that makes 24bhp and 23Nm of torque, if launched, will possibly be received well taking into account the current trend of 250cc motorcycles rushing into the market.
4. Hero HX250R: This could be one of the most powerful motorcycles from the brand when launched, as the company claims great performance on the HX250R. Powered by a new 249cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that comes with Dual Mode Fuel Injection system, it is said to generate 31bhp and achieve speeds from 0-100kmph in approximately 2.7 seconds. It is expected to be launched close to the end of the 2017 at a price around Rs.1.5 lakh.
5. Royal Continental GT750: Reports of this flagship model from RE being spotted testing at different locations have been going on for some time now. The model that gets a 750cc parallel twin engine is said to also receive a 270 degree crank angle for better refinement. This engine will produce 50bhp worth power and 60Nm of torque and be coupled to a six speed gearbox. This 750cc motorcycle from Royal Enfield is expected to be priced around Rs.4 lakh to Rs.4.5 lakh.
