After a long wait, Hero has finally launched the XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T in India. The Xpulse 200 which are available in two variants is priced at Rs.97,000 for the carbureted version and Rs.1.05 lakh for the fuel injected version. The 200T is priced at Rs.94000 (All Prices: Ex Show Room Delhi).
While XPulse 200 meant to satisfy the off-road and adventure purposes, the XPulse 200T is a more road-biased tourer version. Both these models are powered by a 200 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which has been tuned to churn out 18.4bhp at 8000rpm and 17.1Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm. Hero has used the same engine in the Xtreme 200R as well. This engine is further mated to a 5 speed gearbox in both the models.
The bike comes with features such as 21- inch spoke wheels at front and 18- inch one at the rear, high mounted mud guard, high mounted exhaust and a knuckle guard, engine bash plate etc..
Xpulse 200T, being a road friendly model, gets alloy wheels, conventional low-mounted exhaust, a tall windscreen as features.
To serve its purpose as an off-roader, Xpulse 200 gets an upswept exhaust pipe and a more compact and well-designed suspension setup. 37mm telescopic unit at the front provides smoother suspension in both the bikes that is capable of 190mm of travel. At the rear 200T gets a 7-step preload-adjustable unit while 200 gets 10 step pre-load adjustability with 170mm of travel. Braking jobs are handled by disc brakes at both the ends, with single channel ABS as standard.
The XPulse twins are the first made motorcycles in India to come equipped with a digital instrument cluster that has got Bluetooth connectivity for smartphones.
While the XPulse 200 is ready to lock horns with all the major participants in the particular segment with its affordable price compared to others, 200T will compete with CB Hornet 160R and Suzuki Intruder.
