Honda launched the first scooter in India, Activa 125cc with an engine that complies with BS-IV norms. The New Activa also becomes the first scooter to get an AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) feature, which is about to be mandatory on all vehicles in India from April 1st, 2017 as part of safety regulations. Not many cosmetic updates have been provided on this best seller. However, few prominent tweaks are seen like the new pair of LED positioning lamps that fit perfectly into the chrome apron on the front, a protuberant Honda badge and also a mobile charging socket.
With no other change in its mechanicals, New Honda Activa is powered by the existing 125cc HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine coupled to a CVT unit that develops 8.52bhp at 6,500rpm and 10.54Nm at 5,000rpm. The engine is now a BS-IV compliant one promising to reduce emission levels and thereby contributing to a greener India. It also gets the Combi Braking System for enhanced balance while applying brakes to the vehicle.
The New Honda Activa 125cc is available in existing four colours and an additional new colour named New Mat Crust Metallic.
There is also a New Alloy variant introduced in the new Activa with drum brakes option priced at Rs.58,900 (Ex-showroom Delhi). While the standard variant is priced at Rs.56,954, the alloy disc variant is priced at Rs.61,362 (Both Ex-showroom Delhi).
