After months of wait, Polaris India launched the much anticipated Indian Springfield from Indian Motorcycles at a price of 30.60 lakh (ex-showroom Gurgaon/Gurugram) in the country.
Indian Motorcycles that has its birthplace at Springfield in Massachusetts, U.S.A launched its cruiser worldwide, under the same name as its hometown. The touring bike has been purely designed to provide ultimate riding pleasure whether you are on a tour or in the city.
The all new Indian Springfield comes equipped with all-weather saddle bags and quick release windshield which can be stripped down in minutes as and when you choose to hit the town, which can be similarly plugged back when you are all set to tour long distances. The standout feature of shifting itself from a cruiser to a tourer in minutes displays unmatched versatility in this classic yet modern motorcycle keeping the riders satiated at all levels.
Indian Springfield is loaded with a host of basic touring features such as ABS, keyless start system, cruise control, front and rear highway bars, adjustable passenger floorboards, buckhorn handlebars, and tank-mounted fuel gauges.
The motorcycle is energised by a Thunder Stroke 111 engine coupled to a 6 speed transmission delivering a torque of 138.9Nm @ 2600 rpm. Its unique chassis has been designed to handle bulk load of accessories featuring cartridge forks and an air adjustable rear shock. Comprehensive modern technology ensures every detailing has been brilliantly crafted to enthrall not the seasoned riders alone, but even the Harley owners and every bike lover. As the Managing Director of Polaris Industries puts it, the company strategy is to take the motorcycle concept to a whole new level.
All New Springfield is available in classic thunder black colour and competes against the likes of Harley Davidson Street Glide Special in terms of pricing. Polaris India announced its wish to extend their network in the nation and plans to open new showrooms in Jaipur and Cochin in few months, apart from the five showrooms established in this year. The company that sells Indian Motorcycles in the country also informed that they would launch Chieftain Dark Horse bike in a couple of months. Polaris India has an ATV( All terrain vehicle) showroom in Kochin in Kerala, EVM Motors
