• Suzuki Intruder 150 launched at Rs.98,340
• Gets the same engine and few other features as on the Gixxer 150
• Competes against Bajaj Avenger
The new entry level cruiser, Intruder 150 from Suzuki Motorcycle India was launched last week in the country. This 150cc premium motorcycle draws inspiration from its elder sibling Intruder 1800 in terms of design and size, but derives underpinnings from the Gixxer 150. Intruder 150cc is available in India at a price of Rs.98,340 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new breed from Suzuki incorporates few features from the Gixxer but looks more muscular and sturdy with a low seat height compared to the naked bike. Headlamp enclosures have an impressive curvy triangular design behind which lies a mammoth fuel tank that displays grandeur of the vehicle. Body panels on the rear and either side add brawniness to this 150cc machine. Foot pegs are positioned forward with raised handle bars giving the ultimate riding comfort and feel of a cruiser. It also gets the same 17-inch alloy wheels on the Gixxer to exhibit muscle at every corner.
Power is supplied to the Intruder 150 by the same 155cc engine seen on the Gixxer 150. This single-cylinder engine continues to be carbureted and produces 14.8bhp at 8000rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm.
Disc brakes are provided at the front and rear with ABS as standard. Suspension duties are carried out by 41mm telescopic forks at the front while rear features a seven step adjustable monoshock suspension.
Intruder 150 openly challenges Bajaj Avenger but other premium commuters too are sure to feel the heat, as this machine offers an altogether different riding experience at the price.
