It was more than a year back that Kawasaki launched their off road dirt bike for children, the KLX 110. Later months ago, the company introduced two more dirt bikes, KX 100 for starters and KX 250F for real riders. Now, they have come up with their fourth offering, KLX 140G for the passionate off-roaders. Belonging to this particular segment, all these four bikes are only allowed on off-road circuit tracks and are illegal on roads.
This mid-sized motorcycle, clamped on to a steel frame, is powered by a 144cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine coupled to a five speed manual gearbox. For suspension, the KLX 140G is fitted with telescopic forks on the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 220mm disc brake on its front and a 190mm disc unit at the rear. The exhaust pipe is raised for better ground clearance and looks that suit an adventure bike. The seat positioned at 780mm provides comfortable riding for all teens and adults. KLX 140 also gets 21inch and 18 inch spoke wheels on its front and rear respectively to balance well on the off-road terrains. However, being an off-roader, there are no headlamps, indicator lights or rear view mirrors as in other motorcycles.
Kawasaki KLX 140G is priced at Rs.3.91 lakh and are available through company’s dealerships.
