At the recent EICMA Motorcycle Show 2017, Kinetic Group announced their decision to launch the world famous UK based Norton Motorcycles in India in the coming year. Kinetic Motoroyale has entered into a Joint Venture with Norton Motorcycles to form Kinetic Norton that will locally assemble and sell Norton Motorcycles in India. The partnership is said to be a 51%-49% agreement with Kinetic having the majority share thereby representing Norton in South East Asia.
Commando and Dominator will be the first two models from Norton to roll its wheels in India. These vehicles will be assembled at Kinetic’s plantin Maharashtra and out in the retail market in a couple of months from now. Technical Assistance in assembling these units will be provided by Norton experts. Kinetic Motoroyale will retail these bikes in the country through its dealerships where MV Agustaand SWM motorcycles are already being sold by them.
Norton Commander and Dominator were displayed at the EICMA show 2017. These premium classic motorcycles are powered by 961cc parallel twin, fuel-injected engines that produce around 80bhp and 90Nm. The Commando will also be available in two variants as British Limited Editions-Cafe Racer and Sport and will be brought to India as CBU units. However, the Indian operations are expected to begin by 2018.
