Scrambler versions of Bullet 350 and Bullet 500 named as The Trials 350 and Trials 500 have been launched in India. Both these motorcycle exhibit scrambler looks in design all over the body.
Royal Enfield Trials 350 is priced Rs.1.62 lakh while the Trials 500 is priced at Rs.2.07 lakh. The name Trials is inspired from their 1950’s retro, rugged Royal Enfield models which were a part of off-track races and rides. Here both 350 Trials and 500 Trials sport more retro looks of the Scrambler and RE has done a quiet impressive job as always.
Both the Trials share the same frame as of the Bullet 350 and Bullet 500 but has received overall changes to its design. Different colored frames and silver colored chrome nacelle headlight gets an eye catching look. Single spring mounted seat and luggage rack are a few notable changes compared to the Bullet series. Another great change is evident on the exhaust part. Upswept exhaust has been installed on these new siblings, which give more comfort while riding on tarmacs and uneven roads.
An issue to be faced because of the upswept exhaust is that a pillion footrest cannot be fitted on these bikes. The wire sparked rims and the tube tyres indicate the dual purpose of these motorcycles. The short fender has accentuated the rough look. Both the Trials receive 280mm disc brakes in the front and 240mm disc brakes in the rear with dual channel ABS.
The Trial brothers share the same heart of the Bullet 350 and 500. The 346cc single cylinder engine in Trials 350 makes 19.8bhp and 28Nm peak torque with a 5 speed transmission unit while the 499cc single cylinder engine in Trials 500 makes 26.1bhp and 40.9Nm of peak torque with a 5 speed transmission on a carbureted engine. RE offers a wide varieties of accessories for the Trials enough to attract the customers.
