• TVS Apache RTR 160 and RTR 180 now available in matte red

• No other cosmetic or mechanical changes but gets new style

• Both bikes cost Rs.1000 more than the existing version

Two models from TVS- Apache RTR 160 and RTR 180 were relaunched in new Syrah Matte red colour to welcome the festive season. This particular shade was popular in India through their elder sibling Apache RTR 200 4V. Almost every company seems to be coming up with something special for the festive season. TVS Star City+, Jupiter Classic and Victor were among the other vehicles that received special upgrades for the event.

These two models with the new matte paint will not claim of any other cosmetic changes, probably because the company thinks this change by itself will be a big boost for the festive sales of these models that are otherwise well equipped to challenge its rivals. However, the red colour that has been developed using a twin component thermosetting acrylic paint system with a special pigment to create a 'matte clear' finish will be seen through the fuel tank, engine cowl and the rear portion of these bikes. The RTR 160 gets rim stickers in red colour while the same comes in white for RTR 180.

No mechanical changes have been provided to these models as stated earlier. The 159.7cc single cylinder engine on the RTR 160 produces 15.2bhp and 13Nm of peak torque while the 177.4cc single cylinder engine on the RTR 180 makes 17bhp and 15.5Nm of peak torque while being mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The new red colour costs these models Rs.1000 in addition to the existing price.
