Once upon a time, before the entry of multi brand motorcycles, there ruled one particular model from TVS named TVS XL. Once a popular name amongst the rural class of India, this moped still continues to attract people in India, which is clearly evident from the huge sales figures it contributes every month. The age old TVS XL came up with an upgrade few months ago upgrading its engine to a BS-IV compliant one and offering LED daytime running lights as part of the norms.
The popular moped is now launched with added new features at an ex-showroom price of Rs.36,109 which is Rs.2425 more than the XL Heavy Duty variant. The new version is named as TVS XL 100 i-Touch Start or in short TVS XL 100i. It features an electric start system, USB charger point and is offered in new paint scheme named Mineral Purple.
Based on the XL Heavy Duty variant, the new 100i gets its power from the same 99.7cc single cylinder that produces 4.3bhp and 6.5Nm of peak torque while being mated to a single speed gearbox. The top speed of this moped is 60kmph and claims to return a mileage of 67kmpl.
The TVS XL 100i Touch Start gets telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear for better suspension while 80mm and 110mm drum brakes are provided at front and rear respectively for braking system. The kerb weight of this moped is 80kg. The new TVS XL 100i is available for sale in only few cities like Rajasthan, Bihar and Jharkand now. However, the company will begin retail of this moped across the country very soon.
