Piaggio has brought in another variant of the iconic Vespa in the Indian market at Rs.70,285(Ex showroom, Delhi). Named as Notte, an Italian word which means night, this scooter gets an all black theme with matte black paint, blacked out mirrors, alloy wheels and some trim.
This scooter that draws inspiration from GTS Super Notte125, was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. GTS Super Notte 125 is a popular model on the international market from Piaggio’s line-up. This is actually a blacked out version of Vespa LX125. The Vespa Note is powered by a 125cc, air-cooled motor similar to other Vespa 125 range scooters. This engine generates a max power of 10.06PS and peak torque of 10.6Nm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a CVT transmission.
A single side arm suspension upfront and a hydraulicshock absorber at the rear are provided for suspension. Braking jobs are handled by 150mm drum brakes at the front and 140mm drum brakes at the rear. The Vespa Notte gets alloy wheels with tube type tyres.
The highlighted features are its stylish headlamp, black alloys, steel handle bars for rear passenger, comfortable new seats, a modern digital / analogue console etc.
The price of new Vespa Notte is Rs.4,100 lesser than that of the Vespa LX 125which is priced at Rs 74,399(Ex showroom, Delhi). The low price of this model is due to the absence of chrome parts on the body.
As mentioned earlier, this Notte variant of Vespa is on sale globally as GTS Super Notte 125, with a completely different style as compared to Indian spec model that is based on the 125cc Vespa. New Notte 125 will compete against Honda Grazia, recently launched Suzuki Burgman Street 125, TVS Ntorq 125 and so on. The official launch is expected to be next month while bookings have begun already at the company dealerships across the country. The token amount for booking is Rs.5000 and deliveries will commence after the official launch is over.
