Yamaha Motor India launched Fascino 125 FI at a starting price of Rs.66,430 (ex-showroom). This model is the first 125cc scooter from the company stable and replaces the outgoing 113cc Fascino from the lineup.
The new scooter is available in four variants with Disc and Drum options. The price of the new Yamaha Fascino 125 FI ranges between Rs.66,430 and Rs.69,930. The popular Japanese bike maker has extended the same suspension unit from the 113cc to this 125cc, that gets front telescopic fork and unit swing at the rear.
Fascino 125 FI is powered by a new 125-cc Blue Core single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is BS6-compliant and churns out 8.2PS with 9.7Nm of peak torque. This engine is claimed to be 30% more powerful and 16% more fuel efficient than the engine on its younger sibling.
The new model comes with a start-stop system and uses a lightweight frame that makes the vehicle just 99kg weight. The new fuel injection technology added to the scooter is the reason why it is claimed fuel efficient by giving mileage of 58kmpl.
The handlebar too has changed and is now placed 20mm higher and 18mm closer to the rider. There is also a silent start facility available with the help of a new start motor generator as provided on other new scooters from Honda.
The new Fascino 125 gets the retro themed design with metallic colour options that highlight the exterior profile and a reasonable amount of chrome elements which is similar to the outgoing version and also a red and yellow colours to be offered on the premium models only.
The new Yamaha scooter comes equipped with features like 12-inch alloy wheels, Unified Braking System (UBS), a side-stand cut off switch, multi-function key, foldable hook and USB charging among others.
The new model Fascino will go against Suzuki Access, Honda Activa 125, TVS NTorq 125, Honda Grazia and Hero Maestro Edge 125.
