Yamaha India launched the updated MT-09 in India at a price of Rs.10.55 lakh (Ex-showroom) with a price hike of 16k. 2019 version of this middleweight street fighter comes with a new colour option and graphics. Bookings for this model have been going on at company dealerships across the country, while the deliveries are expected to commence soon.
New Mt-09 is powered by the same 847cc, 3-cylinder engine that produces 113.42bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 87.5Nm at 8,500rpm. The engine that is coupled to a six-speed gearbox also features quick shift system for faster shifting during gear change. Braking is done by 298mm dual discs in the front and a single 245mm disc at the rear. All the mechanicals remain unchanged with 41mm USD forks at the front and a rear swing arm monoshock. Updated MT-09 gets a ride by wire throttle with 3 driver modes, multi-level traction and slipper clutch.
The overall silhouette of the motorcycle remains the same with same exterior, same technical features albeit gets different paint jobs. Yamaha MT-09 comes with three colour options to choose from- Yamaha Blu, Tech Black, and the all-new Ice Fluo, instead of the old Night Fluo. This street bike competes with Triumph Street Triple S and Kawasaki Z900 but carry a heavier price tag, due to the reason that it reaches India as CBU units.
