• Maruti Suzuki Ignis to be launched on 13th January 2017
• Addressed as a premium urban crossover, Ignis comes with a lot of unique features for the Indian specific model
• Available in both Petrol and Diesel trims and expected to be priced around Rs.5-7 lakh approximately
Maruti Suzuki Ignis will be launched on the 13th of January 2017 and sold through Nexa outlets across the country. Since the showcase at the Paris Auto Expo 2016, India has been waiting for the launch of this particular crossover from
Maruti Suzuk who kept delaying it due to huge demand on the Brezza and Baleno models. 2017 seems to be the right time for the Japanese car maker to bring this premium car as their first offering in the New Year for which they are highly optimistic as well. Nexa that has successfully featured the premium S-Cross and Baleno in past few years brings the Ignis too this time.
Ignis, A Micro SUV as the company calls it, will be available in both Petrol and Diesel trims. The 1.2L Petrol and 1.3L Diesel variants will also feature automatic gear shift options.
Exteriors present the wide grille, an aggressive bumper, LED daytime running lights with headlamps and projector lights altogether gives it a sporty look while the flared wheel arches and angular styling gives it the boxy image of an SUV. 180mm of ground clearance and a thin line of black cladding run throughout the base of the car seemingly to protect it from scratches while on uneven trails. The top end variant comes with gloss blackened 15 inch alloy wheels while others get basic 15 inch wheels.
On the interiors, the dual tone black and grey dashboard with a large screen infotainment system supported by Apple Car Play and Android Auto and a couple of India specific features places the Ignis on the premium segment comfortably. Boot space is 260 litres which is small for the car, but it appears to accommodate a decent amount of luggage. More details of features and specifications will be available after its launch next month.
Ignis will be available with a host of customization features like the Brezza that include roof wraps, dashboard tone change and many more. Bookings for Maruti Suzuki Ignis will begin from January first week. 2017 appears to be a bright start for the company who has grabbed success this year with Baleno and Vitara-Brezza
