The diesel vehicle ban is going to create socioeconomic problems in the country. Nitin Gadkari Union Transport minister said that road shopping sector is likely attract investment to the tune of Rs.25 lakh which will lead to an increase of GDP by 3 percent.
Ban on diesel cars, though meant for controlling pollution, the same could lead to socio economic issues. The minister said that when someone buys a car for taxi purpose on EMI terms how he is going to repay the loan. Hence social and economic issues are involved in this. According to the mister the Government will introduce BS VI emission norms (BS-VI standards, the industry will have to adopt Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system and also tweak the exhaust system) by 2020 for petrol and diesel. Also use of green fuel such as ethanol and biodiesel need to be started immediately.
The minister said for Delhi the government is building elevated corridors and ring roads as part of decongestion plan at an estimated cost of 30000 crore. The road shipping sector would attract investment to the tune of RS.25 LAKH CRORE and the same will provide job for 4 crore people.
