Jaguar Land Rover launched their much anticipated SUV offering, Range Rover Velar in India at a starting price of Rs.78.83 lakh. Bookings for this vehicle had already begun in the beginning of this month. The Tata Motors owned company has now officially revealed the prices of the different variants of this particular model that has its base variant priced at Rs.78.83 lakh and top end variant at Rs.1.37 crore.
This SUV from the Range Rover stable is a five seater that fills the gap between the two models Evoque and Range Rover Sport in the company’s line-up. The Velar is offered in three powertrains- 2L and 3L in Diesel that makes 177bhp and 296bhp respectively, and 2L in Petrol that produces 247bhp worth power. It is the first vehicle in India to be equipped with JLR’s 2L Ingenium Petrol engine that promises more power with less fuel consumption. All three powertrains are available in five variants including S, SE, HSE and R-Dynamic versions.
Exteriors of The Velar features Range Rover Design philosophy that is evident throughout its profile. Interiors get state of the art features, most importantly to mention the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with two large touchscreens on the central console, one each for the infotainment system and the other functions.
The Range Rover Velar competes against the likes of Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and the Volvo XC90. Deliveries for this SUV are expected to begin from the end of January 2018.

Audi launched special design editions of Audi Q3 and Q7 in India at Rs.40.76 lakh and Rs.82.37 lakh respectively. The new design editions get cosmetic tweaks on the exteriors while their interiors receive additional equipment
