Bajaj Qute, a one of its kind vehicle making its debut into a new segment is now made available for private buyers too across the company dealerships in India at a price of Rs.2.36 lakh. This newcomer falls into the segment of quadricycle in the automobile market, and makes a good alternative to the three wheeler autorikshaws in the country.
Until now, Qute was available only as a commercial vehicle in the country. But now, Bajaj has confirmed its registration as a private vehicle too, in select states. This little car, though technically not a car is fitted with a 216cc liquid cooled single cylinder twin spark ignition engine that makes power worth 13bhp and 18.9Nm torque mated to a five speed sequential manual gearbox.
There is also an option of a CNG variant in Bajaj Qute priced at Rs.2.83 lakh that produces 10.6bhp and 16.1Nm of peak torque. Both regular and CNG variants offer excellent fuel efficiency figures of 35kmpl and 45kmpl respectively. The petrol variant holds 8 litres of fuel while the CNG comes with a capacity of 35kgs.
Bajaj Qute as we know earlier is built on a rigid monocoque body with impact resistant elements. The top speed of this vehicle is limited to 70kmph and the company strictly warns it against highway drives as it is mainly a city friendly vehicle and designed only for intra city drives. Qute does not get disc brakes, but drum brakes for braking power.
