Since its launch in 2014, i10 has been that popular car which won the hearts of millions across the nation. With a commendable increase in sales volume, the Grand i10 managed to maintain the momentum even without any changes on its overall appearance. But when Hyundai decided to give it a facelift and premiered it at the Paris Motor Show 2016, the wait for its Indian launch naturally began.

Hyundai Grand i10 is likely to be named Hyundai Grand i10 Prime as per reports. This well liked hatchback, on its facelift version seems to be loaded with few striking features on its exteriors and interiors. On the front there is the wide hexagonal grille followed by a prominent bonnet, redesigned bumper and headlamps with LED daytime running lamps while on the rear, the bumper, tailgate and fog lamps provides a sporty look. The 14 inch alloy wheels and rear spoilers with brake light are all new features to this cool city car.

Interiors host a plethora of features beginning with a dual tone dashboard, new upholstery, touch screen infotainment system, start/stop button, updated centre console, electrically operated external mirrors, rear AC vents and so on.

The new Grand i10 is available in both petrol and diesel trims with the existing 1.2L 4-cylinder Kappa petrol engine and 1.1L 3-cylinderiRDE diesel engine. Both engines are merged with 5- speed manual gearbox while the Petrol trim alone comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission variant as well.

Safety features include airbags as standard with ABS likely to be added along. There are also reports that the facelift version includes two new safety technologies introduced as Lane Departure Warning System and Forward Collision Warning System as part of the Driver Assist Pack but whether the India spec new i10 will have the above two is unsure. The Grand i10 Facelift/Prime however they call it, is expected to be launched before April 2017 and is likely to be priced in the Rs.5-7 lakh range. India is likely to witness tough competition once again between Hyundai and Maruti in the coming days with the latter about to launch Ignis and Swift 2017.
