Hyundai Motor India launched the latest iteration of i20 Active in the country with not much noise. With prices starting at Rs.7.74 lakh (ex-showroom), the new version comes in three variants, offered both in petrol and diesel trims.
There are no changes on this 2019 model both on the mechanical front as well as the cosmetic front. The only change that is evident is the addition of a new wireless charging unit and a new Stardust colour option made available. We can expect a massive makeover in the 2020 version, which is being tested on roads for quite some time now.
Apart from the new updates, the 2019 version has also been upgraded to meet the mandatory safety requirements including speed alert, driver and passenger seatbelt reminder, reverse camera, parking sensors, etc.
The 1.2L petrol engine is being offered in three variants; S, SX and SX Dual Tone, while the 1.4L diesel engine comes in the top-spec SX variant. The 1.2L petrol engine and 1.4L diesel engine are carried forward from the previous version and continues to make 82bhp and 89bhp respectively. While the petrol engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission unit, the diesel features 6-speed manual gearbox.
As mentioned earlier, the 2020 version of Hyundai i20 Active is getting ready for its launch, and will be unveiled at the Auto Expo next year. The upcoming model is expected to get many new features that will likely challenge the other best selling cars from the segment .
