Leading Auto companies recorded double digit sales in India last month in contrary to the sales in October. Top car makers Maruti Suzuki and Toyota were the major gainers along with Ford, Hyundai, Tata Motors and M&M to follow.
Country’s leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki recorded a year on year growth of 14.1% while Toyota gained by 7%. Domestic sales of both companies showed good results with 14.3% and 13% respectively, while export figures remained flat with 0.8% growth for Maruti and a steep fall for Toyota. Dzire and Brezza contributed to this growth in sales for Maruti, even though Ciaz fell down by 26% compared to November 2016.
Ford India on the other hand, has registered 28.6% growth on total sales with 27019 units against 21004 units sold during November 2016. Recently launched Ford EcoSport contributed to the growth in Domestic sales, while the company gained on exports by a whopping 36% which is an all-time record in their history.
Mahindra and Mahindra registered a growth of 21% in total sales, including Commercial vehicle segment. With a much awaited launch of the facelift version of their best seller Scorpio, M&M has recorded 21% growth in the passenger vehicle segment in domestic market last month. Commercial vehicles too recorded 22% growth in sales compared to November 2016.
Tata Motors showed double digit growth of 35% in total sales with Nexon, Tiago, Hexa and Tigor claiming to be the major contributors in the domestic market. Exports at the same time fell by 12% while their Commercial vehicles segment recorded a growth of 72% in India.
Hyundai India rose up by 10% in November sales with good contribution from their recently launched Verna along with other best sellers as Grand i10, Elite i20 and Creta. Similarly, Honda Cars India gained a significant growth of 39% on total sales with 47.2% growth in the domestic market, WR-V being the major contributor. Exports of the company fell down by 58% compared to same month last year.
