Renault launched its Kwid facelift at a starting price of Rs. 2.96 lakh (Kerala). The ex-showroom price in Kerala for the base model is Rs.2.96 lakh The top-spec variant (Climber AMT) costs Rs.3.64 lakh. With aggressive pricing, Renault has placed the new Kwid as a strong contender for the recently launched Mini SUV S-Presso from the Indian manufacturer Maruti Suzuki.
The new Renault Kwid is available in 6 different colours - Zanskar Blue, Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, Outback Bronze, and Electric Blue.
The new Renault car is offered in two engine options 799cc and 999cc. Both these engines are equipped with Smart Control Efficiency (SCe) technology which optimises the air-to-fuel ratio for better performance and increased fuel efficiency. The 0.8-litre engine produces 54PS power output @ 5678rpm and 72Nm torque @ 4386 rpm while the 1.0-litre engine generates 68PS power @ 5500rpm and 91Nm torque @ 4250 rpm.
Among the 5 trims of Renault Kwid, the Climber variant hosts many features to enhance the SUV-ish feel of the peppy car. Both the RXT and Climber variants are equipped with passenger airbags while the lower models come with a driver airbag alone. Reverse parking sensors, ABS + EBD, Engine Immobilizer, Driver and passenger seat belt reminder are some of the features which are provided as a standard across all the models.
The higher two trims are equipped with a 20.32cm touchscreen infotainment system powered by MediaNAV Evolution which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It has a built-in push-to-talk voice recognition system.
