Tata owned Jaguar Land Rover India (JLR India) launched two new petrol variants of their best-selling SUV Range Rover earlier this week. The 2018 version of Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport with more loaded features are the new comers. Both these luxury cars are tagged at a price range of Rs.99.5 lakh to 1.96 Cr in India.
What’s interesting to notice is that the new SUVs are launched in the same price range as that of the outgoing models. The pricing of the new diesel variant of Range Rover Sport starts at 99.48 lakh INR and goes up to 187.16 Lakh INR while the petrol variant of the same is priced at 110.3 lakh INR.
Similarly, the Range Rover has a price tag of 174.29 lakh INR for the diesel variant while the petrol variants start at range of 187.16 lakh INR – 388.16 lakh INR in the country.
Both the new entrants come loaded with almost similar features. Electronic Air Suspension, Twin-Speed Transfer Box accompanied by Electronic centre differential, Terrain Response and adaptive dynamics are what’s being offered by JLR to their customers on their two new SUVs this year. The features offered are as strong and efficient as they sound making the driving experience even better.
The Range Rover will be available to their customers in a 250kW and a 386kW petrol engine with a common standard wheelbase of 2.92 m in length. The Range Rover Sport on the other hand, will be available in 250kW and 386kW petrol engine and 190kW and 250kW diesel engine options.
On the exterior, the Range Rover Sport grabs your attention with its new grille, fender vents, Matrix LED, Pixel LED, Redesigned Clamshell bonnet and Pixel-Laser LED Headlights. The interiors of the SUVs are assembled with Dual Pro Touch Screens; Full Color Head-up Display, a 31,25cm Interactive Driver Display and an optional rear seat Entertainment System.
The Range Rovers have always been on the rank list in the SUV market. Particularly last year when JLR became the 4th largest selling brand in the segment followed behind BMW Mercedes and Audi.
