Renault Captur 2019

• Company’s new flagship model is built on the MO platform as the Duster

• Has many new first in-segment premium features

After years of Duster’s storm, Renault has come up with a new compact SUV that is ready to capture Indian hearts in one go. Yes, we are talking about the newly launched Captur from the French Carmaker that was also the much awaited vehicle of 2017. Built on the same MO platform as Duster, it also shares similar features as the sibling. However, Renault Captur stands as the company’s new flagship model, just above the Duster in the company portfolio list with a captivating design, style and many more attractive features.

Captur is available in both Petrol and Diesel trims, across four variants ranging between Rs.9.99 lakh and Rs.13.88 lakh. This premium compact SUV from the French carmaker is set to compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV 500 and Jeep Compass.

Captur displays an unconventional design throwing away the typical boxy looks of an SUV. Beginning from the grille to even the flowing lines throughout the vehicle, design excellence can be seen all over this urban crossover. LED headlamps with DRLs, dynamic turn indicators, keyless entry, 17-inch alloy wheels and many more features are provided. Interiors have more to speak in terms of upmarket features. Renault Captur gets a dual tone cabin, split instrument console with digital display, a large infotainment system mounted on the central console enhanced by gloss black inserts, connectivity with Bluetooth, Maps and Navigation, USB and so on. Quilted leatherette seats get black and white tone which also give plush feel and comfort while travelling.

Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist while Renault also claims Captur to be certified for offset frontal and lateral crash. Renault Captur Diesel gets power from a 1.5L K9k diesel engine that makes 108bhp at 4000rpm and a peak torque of 240Nm at 1750rpm. Petrol variants get power from a 1.5L petrol engine that makes 104bhp at 5600rpm and 142Nm of peak torque at 4000rpm. Similar to the Duster, Petrol engines are coupled to 5-speed manual transmission unit while Diesel engines to 6-speed manual transmission.

Bookings for Renault Captur have begun while deliveries are expected to commence in a short while.
