Renault launched a new car named Triber into the less crowded MPV segment. The new Renault car is priced aggressively in a range of 4.95-6.49 lakh Rupees.
The tail lamp unit design is inspired by the beak of an eagle, but it vaguely resembles an eagle while we look at it. The 182mm ground clearance gives the car a tall stance. The SUV skid plates add further to provide stylish looks along with the roof rails. The roof rails are not just for the looks, it can carry a load of 50kg.
The Renault Triber offers versatile seating configurations with its Camp Mode (2-seater), Surf Mode (4-seater), Life Mode (5-seater), and Tribe Mode which makes use of the maximum seating capacity of the 7-seater.
The Renault Triber is powered by a 999cc 3-cylinder engine which is capable of generating a torque of 96NM @ 3500rpm and a power output of 72Ps @ 6250rpm. The 1.0-litre engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. 40 litres of fuel tank capacity offers non-stop drives.
A 20.32cm touchscreen fits into the dual-tone dashboard very well. The touchscreen features MediaNAV Evolution with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The touchscreen is available for the top 2 variants. Smart access card, Push-start button, and the LED instrument cluster are some of the premium features of this budget-friendly 7 seater car.
The storage in the centre console can be used to cool the drinks on the go. Two glove box in which one has a cooling function is a handy feature to have. The twin AC with vents on the 2nd and 3rd row keeps the occupants in comfort during the summer days. The boot space is huge with 625L in 5-seater configuration. The boot space varies with the seating modes.
The 2 front airbags and 2 side airbags provide safety for the driver and the passenger. The safety could’ve been further enhanced for the second row and third-row passengers.
Datsun GO Plus, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the recently launched Maruti Suzuki XL6 are the rivals for this budget-friendly 7-seater car.
