Toyota Innova Crysta received a new diesel variant G plus in both seven seater and eight seater options at prices of Rs.15.57 lakh and Rs.15.62 lakh respectively (Ex-Showroom Prices, Delhi). The company silently introduced this new variant to the Indian market, but the brochure and features list is yet to be updated on their official website. Hence, we will have to wait for further updates from the company to know what more the G plus has to offer compared to the other variants.
Toyota G Plus is positioned as the new entry level trim, seated under GX and may not have all features as seen on the outgoing base variant GX in the Diesel trim. However, it gets 16 inch alloy wheels, airbags, rear spoilers, fabric seats, rear parking sensors, ac vents for all rows and halogen headlamps. ABS with EBD will also be available as standard to comply with the updated safety norms in the country.
Unlike the G trim, New G Plus will be available not just to fleet owners, but also to private customers. This new variant will not get all the colours other variants offer; it is said to miss out on Red and Pearl White.
Crysta G Plus will be powered by the same 2.4L diesel engine that produces 150bhp and 343Nm of peak torque while being mated to a six speed manual transmission unit. Toyota Innova was one of the best-selling models from the brand in India since the day it was launched and it continues to be even after the MPV was redesigned as Crysta. All New G Plus appears to be a variant, now introduced to further extend the brand’s customer base in the country with an attractive price tag.
