Auto Expo 2018 is just round the corner with various carmakers planning to unveil new models. Toyota isn’t behind either and this time; they have a premium sedan Yaris from their global portfolio, that’s getting ready to be unveiled at the upcoming show.
The Japanese Automaker is planning to bring Yaris to India in the later part of 2018, and the Indian-spec model is expected to share close resemblance with the one on sale at the Singapore market with Vios moniker. Upon launch, this newcomer will rival against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.
Toyota has spruced up the exterior of Yaris, to make up for the model’s shortcomings in terms of dimensions. Compared to its rivals, Yaris will appear to have a shorter wheelbase at 2550mm and a length of 4425mm, making it a mid-sized sedan over four meters. The sweptback headlamps with projector lights, massive airdam with LED daytime running lights above, circular fog lamps and the prominent V-line on the bonnet render the front fascia with the looks of a premium Toyota sedan.
Interiors have a perfectly designed dashboard with a large touchscreen infotainment system on the Central console. The dual tone cabin also claims to be wider than its competitors in the international market. Interiors also come with chrome ringed dials, steering wheel with silver accents and many more impressive features.
Toyota Yaris will be launched in India with a 1.5L petrol engine and no report of a diesel trim is heard as of now. However, chances of a hybrid version in the offing can’t be pushed away taking into note the company’s expertise in the field of hybrid vehicles in the past. The 1.5L petrol engine on the new Toyota Yaris will feature a five speed manual transmission and a 7-step CVT.
