Volvo launched their premium SUV, XC60 in a new avatar at a price of Rs.55.90 lakh. The second generation model appears in only one variant named Inscription and is based on the company’s in-house developed SPA platform.
The all New XC60 draws inspiration from Volvo’s flagship SUV, XC90 and competes with the likes of Mercedes Benz GLC, Jaguar F-Pace, Audi Q5, Land Rover Discovery Sport and BMW X3 and so on. Unlike the global markets, XC60 gets only a diesel trim in India. The 1969cc SUV is powered by a 2L twin-turbocharged D5 diesel engine that makes 233bhp and 480Nm of peak torque. The motor is coupled to an 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.
On its exteriors, the 23 slat chrome grille and Thor’s hammer styled LED daytime running lamps on the LED headlights adorn the front fascia just as any other Volvo car. Large 19 inch alloy wheels, vertical LED tail lamps, massive air intakes, LED fog lamps, roof mounted spoiler, chrome tipped dual exhaust pipes andsports bumpers add to the sporty appeal of this urban friendly SUV. Inside the huge cabin, ventilated massage seats on the front row, panoramic sunroof, Nappa leather upholstery, 9-inch Sensus touch screen infotainment system on the centre console are few features that require mention.
Safety features likeAdaptive cruise control, Pilot assist, Lane departure alert, 360 degree camera for parking, hill start assist and HUD mode are offered on the New Volvo XC60.
