will reach India as CBU units and will feature BS-VI engine, making it the second model from the brand after the launch of A6, to comply with the upcoming emission norms. BS-VI norms will turn effective in the country from April 1,2020 as per the government decision.
As per reports, the model will be customisable to suit the owner’s needs. Q8, typically a coupe-SUV will feature Audi’s massive signature grille from the modern era, LED headlights, indicators and 3D DRLs, wide LED tail lights and a light strip connecting both ends, flared wheel arches and many more outstanding features to keep it recognizably distinct.
The roof line and doors resemble that of a coupe while the 22 inch wheels from the international spec may make its way to the Indian market, turning this model to be one of its kind SUV in the country. The cabin will feature a state of the art dashboard with multifunctional steering wheel, dual touch screen control system as on the A6 sedan with a 10.1 inch unit at the top for the infotainment and an 8.1 inch unit at the bottom for the other controls that includes AC, heating and ventilation functions, and a panoramic sunroof among other features.
The five seater Audi Q8 will be powered by a 3L, V6 petrol engine from the 55 TFSI variant that will most likely be launched in India. The petrol engine will be capable of producing 340bhp and 370Nm of torque. The diesel engine may not arrive anytime soon as the company appears to be still pondering over the idea of a launch of a diesel engine in the country, considering its future. The new flagship SUV will be mostly available in the price range of Rs. 1 Crore, especially since it is an imported model and will have to cover the duties and taxes charged on its way to the country.
