Here we have a mild Crossover which can handle your daily city drive to your office and back and which you can take on your weekends to those hilly sections where the roads are not quite so good.
Yes, I decided to drive the Tiago NRG today and here is a detailed review of the same. Please don’t forget to post your comments and your rating of this vehicle on the comments section below.
Ok, then let me begin.
The exterior is quite appealing for some as beauty holds in the eyes of the viewers.. so, we let you guys decide how it looks.
To show its muscularity over the normal Tiago. Tata has added some muscle to it. Like all the crossovers we have seen, this one too has the same black cladding that runs all along its body adding to the appeal. On the front, there are projector headlamps while for the rear unit, there are LED tail lamps.
Tata has done some clever cost cuttings with the Alloy wheels, rather say wheel caps designed to do the job.
The interiors appear quite nice for a car of this price range, as it gets a ConectNxt system from Tata with Harman audio system that works great for music. The quality of elements inside the cabin is pretty good too with lot of storage space and a neatly designed steering wheel.
The rear portion is tad comfier and spacious than its rivals. Overall the interiors impress you more than the exterior of this model.
As Tata claims it as the Urban Tough Roader version of the Tiago, we decided to take it to some tough roads to check its capability.
The engine is a 3 cylinder engine, and hence not the most silent one, the clutch is pretty light with good and easy gear shifts while the power feels adequate to run in our city traffic.
Highway run can be made occasionally with the Tiago NRG since the body supports it, but sadly not its soul. It is stable, but it is the 3 cylinder engine that doesn’t go well on highways. But hey, no car has a highway mode in this particular segment. The added ground clearance adds to the comfort while taking it on rough terrains. You sure can throw it on small bumps and potholes and this car can sure handle it.
If you are planning for a compact hatchback with some added advantages, this car fits your choice with best in class interiors, a fuel efficient engine, and especially to mention, pocket-friendly maintenance. Priced at Rs.5.7 lakh for the petrol and Rs.6.5 lakh for the diesel variant, Tiago NRG is a more Value for Money combo that we don’t find much in this current market.
(5,68,000 for petrol and 6,54,887 for the diesel)
