Trending car news The sketch of the second generation GLA has been revealed by Mercedes Benz, just as we wait for its global debut. The upcoming SUV is all set to be launched in the international market on 11th December. Mercedes Benz had released a teaser of it last month and since then the market has been waiting for the launch of this new iteration GLA.

The German Carmaker has shared the sketch of this upcoming model that exhibits the profile along with the rear portion. Apparently, not much has changed when it comes to the basic profile. However, this upcoming SUV carries a more stylish contemporary design as compared to the previous generation model.

The dimensions of the SUV have changed slightly making it taller by 10mm, while the length is 15mm shorter than the existing model. The wheelbase will be about 30mm longer so as not to affect the legroom on the crossover inspired GLA. Yes, Mercedes GLA will be more of a crossover SUV, with a straightforward design as against other models.

The new GLA will feature four-cylinder engines. The petrol engines will be featured with 1.3L and 2.0L unit while there will be diesel engines in 1.5L and 2.0L units. Both petrol and diesel engines will be BS6 compliant. This model is also expected to be available in a petrol plug-in-hybrid variant.

Mercedes has not confirmed yet, the launch of the second-generation of GLA in India. Once it is launched, it will be a direct rival to the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40. The upcoming SUV is expected to be priced between $34,250 - $36,250.
