After the launch of GSX S750 in April 2018 and Burgman Street in July 2018, Suzuki is gearing up for another launch for the year 2018, the Suzuki V Strom 650. V Strom 650 is expected to go on sale by August or September this year.
The V Strom 650, was first showcased in the country at the Auto Expo 2018. This motorcycle will be reaching India as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) units and this is the third bike from the brand to be locally assembled after Hayabusa and GSX S750.
The Suzuki V Strom 650 is powered by a liquid cooled, four stroke, 645 cc engine that makes 71hp and 62Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. This model is available in two variants globally; one as the more road biased standard V-Strom 650 and another as the off road specific V-Strom 650 XT. Apparently, Suzuki has plans to launch only the V-Strom 650 XT in India.
Inspired by its larger sibling, the V-Strom 1000, V Strom 650 gets premium anodized wire-spoke rims shod with Bridgestone Battlax Adventure A40 tubeless tyres. A telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock with rebound adjustment and a remote preload adjuster at the rear are provided for suspension. The fuel tank has a capacity of 20 litres.
The V-Strom 650 XT also gets a three stage traction control system .Other notable features are three way height adjustable windscreen, Suzuki’s Easy Start System, standard ABS etc.
Expected ex showroom price for Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT is somewhere around Rs.6.5 Lakh. For more details, we will have to wait until the company reveals more information regarding its features and other specifications.
