The first generation of FZ was launched back in the year 2008 and continues to be a good performer in the market in spite of heavy competition.
This new generation motorcycle is pretty much identical to the outgoing model in terms of mechanicals. The motor is a 149cc, air-cooled, single cylinder, 2 valve unit producing 13.2bhp and 12.8Nm of torque which is mated to a 5 speed transmission unit. Though the mechanicals haven’t changed much, Yamaha has included single channel ABS on the 2019 iteration for better safety as per the new norms.
The design appears somewhat new compared to its elder siblings. It features the same bold and muscular stance as before. Yamaha FZ V3 now gets fake air vents adjacent to the fuel tank, a new engine cover, LED headlight unit, LCD display unit and a single piece seat which adds support along with the raised handle bars.
The addition of ABS unit and few styling elements seems to have added 5kg weight to the body, resulting in a total weight of 137kgs. The new generation FZ V3 is priced Rs.13,000 premium over the regular FZ. 2019 Yamaha FZ V3 retails at a price of Rs.95,000 while FZ-S V3 is priced at Rs.97,000 (Both Ex-showroom prices).
