Trending bike news Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha Motor has successfully reached 10 million units production milestone in India. This brand currently has three facilities in Noida, Faridabad and Chennai. Three of these production plants together have contributed to achieving this number now.

FZS-FI Version 3.0, was the ten millionth product rolled out from the company's Chennai factory in the presence of senior management officials from Yamaha Motor. In this entire 10 million units, the proud achievement of 5 million units was made in the period between 2012 to 2019.

Out of this 10 million unit produced so far, 77.88 lakh units were motorcycles and 22.12 lakh units were scooters. About 80 per cent of this was manufactured at Surajpur and Faridabad while the rest were made at the Chennai plant.

Yamaha had started its operations in 1985 and achieved their first 1 million units of production in the year 1999. They crossed 5 million unit productions in 2012 and further another milestone of 1 million scooters production in the year 2016.

Being the largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Yamaha has now truly made yet another remarkable achievement by reaching tenth million unit production milestone in India.

Trending bike news The updated Gixxer SF 150 comes at premium price compared to the previous models. Suzuki has completely updated the styling elements on the new Gixxer SF 150, and this model is now closely similar to the elder brother Gixxer SF 250.

Gixxer SF 150 now comes with split-seats and a clip-on handlebar which in turn changes the riding position. Features such as LED headlamps, LED tail lights, chrome-garnish on the double-barrel exhaust muffler and a fully-digital instrument cluster etc. remains the same in this updated model.

Suzuki enters the fully faired 250cc segment through the launch of Gixxer SF 250 that gets an entirely new design language. To ensure premium quality and superior styling, Suzuki has followed the European design trends. The bold styling on the motorcycle with cuts and creases on it along with the chrome garnished dual-exhaust muffler, accentuates the sporty look on this motorcycle.

41mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock suspension set up at the rear handles suspension jobs. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends and this set up is supported by a single-channel ABS as standard.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 is powered by the 154.9cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 14.1bhp at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is further mated to a five-speed gearbox.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is powered by a newly developed 249cc oil cooled single-cylinder engine that generates 26.5bhp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The engine on this new motorcycle is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The Gixxer SF 250 gets standard telescopic front forks and a swing arm type monoshock suspension set up at the rear for smooth suspension. Braking is handled by disc brakes on both ends, supported by a dual-channel ABS system as standard.

Gixxer SF 250 competes with Yamaha Fazer 25 and Honda CBR 250R ABS along with other motorcycles in the same price range. Gixxer SF 150, on the other hand competes with the recently launched Hero Xtreme 200S.
